Campsite La Grande Tortue is situated in the heart of the chateaux of the Loire

  • At 30 km is château Chenonceau, also knows as the ladies castle, one of the most visited castles.
  • At 25 km, château de Cheverny will amaze you with his superbe furniture and his hunt museum. This castle has been the model to Hergé to draw MOULINSART from Tintin. An exposition of tintin will bring him and his friends back to life.
  • At 30 km, the round towers of château de Chambord seem to hesitate between Renaissance and Middle Ages. In the middle of a big parc Chambord is one of the biggest chateaux of the region.
  • At only serveral kilometers of the camp site the town of Blois stretch itselfs along the Loire. Its old town with typical small alleys is a pleasant walk in France of the 16th century.

Take one of the cycletracks of “Loire à vélo” to visit Chaumont sur Loire and its beautiful gardens situated at only 6 km from the camp site.

Amboise, Le clos Lucé, Montpoupon and many others, not so famous but very attrative are waiting for you.

No matter which chateaux of the Loire you decide to visit during your stay in the Loire Valley, these visits give your the opportunity to spend some wonderfull moments with your friends or family in a lovely region with an incredible history.
